The latest piece by Yonatan Gat listens like an erratic beach rock opera in space and is borne from a scene less than tranquil. His aptly named “Cue The Machines” was recorded live with a steady performance in mind, though musicians can attest that this can often be a waking dream. As the drum machine fell, Yonatan took it as a sign from the Universe itself to continue, connecting celestial dots for a greater picture. Then again, he is known for theatrical shows. This one opens up his forthcoming record, Universalists, out May 4th on Joyful Noise. Don’t miss it.
