sivu

Sivu has always offered a particular sort of melancholy. The British singer-songwriter’s voice is tremulous and his arrangements slightly rough around the edges, creating the intimacy and fragility of a demo track without sacrificing quality (take, for instance, the guitar on “Over and Over”).

His latest track “Lonesome” is more fully fleshed out, with playful strings laid over his warbling voice. The effect, however, is the same: a combination of delicateness and dissonance that suggests both the quietude of lonesomeness and the chaos of it.

Sivu’s Sweet sweet Silent is due out July 7th via Square Leg Records.
