YACHT – Shangri-La
As a native Los Angeleno, I have a strong affection for any song that mythologizes my hometown. Yacht’s “Shangri-La” does just that. Heck, even the logo for the song does a unique take on my beloved Dodger’s LA. The Portland transplants clearly have developed a deep affection for their new surroundings. As they put it, “Basically, any place can be Utopia. But it doesn’t hurt when that place is already Los Angeles.”
The video features friends, family, and collaborators doing typical L.A. activities in pristine weather. The usage of soft-focus and hazy cinematography adds to the dreamy nature that most of the country associates with California. Plus, it makes this expat writer miss home.

Amazing track & band. Just wondering, do you think they’ll ever do anything with Kiedis? I may be overshooting this but they just seem to have a lot of similarities.
I have to show thanks to you just for rescuing me from this matter. Just after looking through the search engines and getting ways which were not powerful, I assumed my entire life was done. Living without the answers to the problems you have fixed through your main article content is a serious case, as well as the kind which might have negatively damaged my career if I had not come across your blog. Your expertise and kindness in controlling the whole thing was helpful. I am not sure what I would have done if I hadn’t come upon such a point like this. It’s possible to at this moment look forward to my future. Thank you so much for the professional and result oriented guide. I will not think twice to suggest the sites to anyone who desires guidelines about this situation. >>> Philomena @
