It boggles my mind why we haven’t featured Wild Orchid Children here on ATG before. The Seattle seven-piece features members of Gatsby’s American Dream (welcome back!), Kay Kay And His Weathered Underground, and Search/Rescue. Forget what you know about those bands though; Wild Orchid Children sound nothing like their predecessors. Imagine if the Beastie Boys had been born guitar-in-hand in the middle of the Everglades and you’ve got a start. Wild Orchid Children are raw and raucous, two things that always go well together. The band just released a video for an extended cut of “Ahead Of Us The Secret,” which you can check out after the jump. The Wild Orchid Children Are Alexander Supertramp is out now on Equal Vision.
