“Equestrian,” the haunting track from local stalwarts U.S. Royalty, is easily our most blogged song in the last 12 months, and possibly of all time–with the exception of “Sleepyhead” because, well…come on. Given this fact, one may wonder why we are again discussing it.

Enter Micah Vellian, a DJ/producer and yet another resident of our nation’s capital. His remix of “Equestrian” maintains the swagger of the original track while upgrading the guitars to dance floor-ready synths and a smooth bass track. According to Vellian, the single felt “really anthemic and I just wanted to exploit that energy for the remix.” Mission accomplished.
