Ticket Giveaway: Belle & Sebastian @ Merriweather Post Pavilion
Belle & Sebastian are making their triumphant return to the States with a North American tour that will be stopping through the DC area at the Merriweather Post Pavilion on Friday, July 12th. We have a pair of tickets to give away before they go on sale to the public. What do you have to do to win?
Did you know Belle & Sebastian’s name comes from a children’s book (“Belle et Sébastien”)? We want you to pick out something from your childhood — a book, movie, toy, anything — that could double as a band name. You can touch it up a little if necessary. We’ll pick a winner by 10AM this Friday, February 22nd. Have at it!

The Berenstain Bears would be a great band name, given today’s obsession with having the word “bear” in the name of your band.

I’d call the band Mr. Dressup and His Tickle Trunk.

It might not be the best band name ever, but Ezra Jack Keats was one of my favorite authors as a child and this was my favorite book.
I think “Fraggle Rock” would be a pretty good band name
Teddy Ruxpin! But maybe I’d change it to Teddy ROCKSpin. Or maybe not.

My mom use to mix up Sega and Nintendo all the time and just call all or video games Sego…. My sister always tell my nieces and nephews to ray off Faceyspace (Facebook/MySpace ) I think both are doable lol
Flower’s Kiss! It’s the name of a Japanese candy that my parents used to get for me and my sister.
“Dinkey Bird,” in reference to a dreamy children’s poem by Eugene Field, illustrated by Maxfield Parrish. Field’s poetry epitomizes idyllic childhood.

The Velveteen Rabbits strikes me as a good name. Or, possibly, The Story Girl, which was the name of a L.M. Montgomery book I loved as a kid.
