The Shins – Ashes to Ashes + Untitled New Song
I remember the first time I heard of The Shins… Zack was obsessed with Chutes Too Narrow back in high school, so it played often in his impossibly old blue Volvo which consistently blasted out hot air (Ed. note: and even hotter indie jams) regardless of the season.
If you are tuned into the indie news scene, you no doubt would’ve heard the new Shins line-up (which still features James Mercer) covering David Bowie‘s “Ashes to Ashes” at a show in Eugene, Oregon. Somewhat lost in this awesome news was the brand new track they introduced a their second show in Bend, Oregon. The song is currently unnamed, and in true Shins fashion, is quite a lovely tune. The Shins are slated to release their new LP on Mercer’s own Aural Apothecary label next year, so be on the lookout for it!
And just because we’re that awesome and you guys love MP3′s, here’s RAC’s take on The Shins’ “Sleeping Lessons.”
