British trio The Joy Formidable have released “Cholla,” another track from their upcoming full-length, Wolf’s Law. The song is right in the band’s wheelhouse with only subtle stylistic variations setting it apart from the standard Joy Formidable. It’s slightly less dynamic than we’ve come to expect, showcasing similar quick-paced rhythms as past tracks but with less dramatic variation. Though there are still a couple of quick, short-breathed loud-quiet-loud moments, overall the tone and volume of the track are steadily enormous. The guitars are a bit heavier to go with the simpler progression, though the track retains that trademark triumphant undertone, best heard with the volume cranked to full. The Joy Formidable’s Wolf’s Law drops January 2013.
