It’s a new week: out with the heat waves and in with the hot jams. Aussie favorites Tame Impala are back with a gently psychedelic new track off their upcoming album Lonerism called “Apocalypse Dreams.” Fans of Innerspeaker won’t be disappointed; the airy velvet we couldn’t get enough of in 2010 is back, but kicked up a notch, more mature; listening to it is like the time you first found out booze-infused whipped cream was a thing. Or, as frontman Kevin Parker describes it, “It’s like if you got the album that’s out now and gave it the Ninja Turtles ooze and turned it into a mutant version.” If so, the album’s going to be better than pizza time.
