We’re no stranger to ANR here at All Things Go. Hell, we even hosted a concert featuring them back in February. Even so, they were playing a string of shows in Austin last weekend and we absolutely had to check them out. It takes balls to do a show with just two people on stage, especially when your music is heavy on electronics. Michael-John and Brian do it better than any duo I’ve seen live; it’s crazy how powerful of a sound those two are able to make with just drums and synth. And that’s without a laptop. We had the distinct pleasure of catching ANR on the patio of a small Ethiopian restaurant in East Austin. Why there weren’t more people there, I don’t know, but the Miami twosome transformed the least excessive of venues into a place of their own. They also scored extra points for adorableness by letting this little guy handle sound check. Stay Kids is out now on 10k Islands.
