STAR SLINGER – MORNIN’
While I’m an unabashed sucker for electro-pop, I can’t say the same for DJ’s, mixologists, remixologists, and glorified playlist shufflers (Girl Talk, ahem, ahem). They’re just normally not my cup of tea. But Star Slinger makes me second guess my stubborn stance on disc jockeys. And although Sean posted one of his jamz just the other day y’all are still itching for more, especially after he cancelled his RNR Hotel show last weekend. Well, I’m here for you. The track featured below sees Star Slinger smacking some sticky beats and sparkly strings on top of a Staples Singers sample (“Let’s Do It Again”) in what is clearly a recipe for sweet and soulful, chopped-up, gooey goodness. As the title connotes, this song is best played when the day is still young. So tomorrow when you’re hungover and groggy from the killer ATG party the night before, pop this gem on the stereo, and before you know it you’ll be floating in the 71 degree faux-summer-sky. Dig it.
