Interpol front man Paul Banks is dropping his Julian Plenti alter-ego for his second solo outing on Matador. The album, simply titled Banks, comes out today. If lead single “The Base” is any indicator, Banks will use his baritone and cryptic lyrics to further explore the subtle complexity staked out on Interpol’s 2010 self-titled release. However, that’s not to say there’s nothing new here; just wait for the massive bridge. Be sure to catch Mr. Banks when he comes to the Howard Theatre on November 9th.
