Naturally, I was crushed when I got the news that my Rx Bandits were calling it quits. But with every end comes a new beginning, right? So is the case with the band’s frontman, Matt Embree. On August 9th, he and fellow Sargent House label-mate Lisa Papineau will be releasing their debut full-length, Chez Raymond, under the a propos moniker, ME & LP. The first bit of the album to hit our ears is “La Belle Tocade,” a haunting but soothing number backed by soft organs, keys and a dulcet, Embree-esque guitar riff. What makes the track, though, are Papineau’s vocals, which are eerily reminiscent of a darker Ellie Goulding. This song won me over first listen, so get ready.
