Lower Dens – Brains
Usually when I see something titled “Brains,” zombies quickly come to mind. Unfortunately, Jana Hunter and the Lower Dens’ take on “Brains” has nothing to do with zombies. But the song does merit plenty of attention. The group just announced via Facebook and Twitter that they’ve finished up their sophomore release, Nootropics. “Brains” is the first taste off that album, and the group is giving it away for free on their website. This sneak peak preps us for something a little more synthy than one might expect, but still within the soft, hushed rock we’ve grown to love from the Baltimore-based folksters. The Internet has been all a-buzz surrounding the band’s follow-up to 2010’s Twin-Hand Movement, an album that accrued a solid cult following, so be sure to look out for Nootropics on March 27th.
