Tomorrow the Red Palace brings us two excellent acts in two femme fatales known for their live shows: Marnie Stern and No Joy. The former is a highly technical, hyperactive rocker who shreds like the gods. The latter are two face-in-their hair type of grunge rockers who would fit snugly beside some of the classics like the Black Angels, Dandy Warhols or even early Sonic Youth. One should expect the two groups to present their noise pop in very different ways: to be lulled into a drone-like trance by No Joy, just before having your face blown off by Stern. Basically, it’s not one to miss.
