Jack White gives us his version of outlaw chic in the new video for “Freedom at 21,” the latest single from his solo debut, Blunderbuss. Directed by the legendary Hype Williams, the video features White as a reckless fugitive who, try as he might, just can’t seem to escape from sexy women. It’s a magical world — made all the more alluring by William’s signature colors and hallucinatory camera tricks — in which tunnels look like nightclubs, bras don’t exist and prison sex actually looks fun. The best element here is White’s overblown sense of bravado; the guitarist is more comfortable on his own, even while being pursued by a bevy of ladies. Watch out for a quick cameo by Josh Homme. Blunderbuss is out now on White’s own label, Third Man Records.
