The problem with saying I have a girl crush on the ladies of Haim is that “crush” implies some frivolous fawning, when really my love for the band is more serious than Jonah Hill’s new career direction. Their performances at South by Southwest were enough to establish them in my mind as the voice of our generation, or whatever you’re supposed to call artists who immortalize your feelings in song, and since then I’ve woken up every morning hoping that day will be the day the world gets some new stuff from Haim.

And here we are. The brunette babes have just released their video for “Forever” off their impressive first EP of the same name. We’re excited about it not just because, as a rule, we’re always on board with girls biking down palm-shaded streets and dancing in barbershops, but moreso because our east coast compatriots who have yet to catch the LA-based band live in action can finally see, and not just hear, what all the fuss is about: how they’re simultaneously timeless and defining this moment.
