Grouplove & Manchester Orchestra – Make It To Me

567660

In honor of Record Store Day, indie-pop heavy hitters Manchester Orchestra and Grouplove put their heads together and created “Make It To Me,” a track that is the aural equivalent of hopping on the back of a freight train and releasing a thousand balloons into the blue spring sky. What begins as an insistent, punctuated rock song — think Editors meets New Pornographers — quickly blooms into something full-on gleeful, replete with exuberant harmonies and a grungy electro intrusion whose cross-genre beat melts into and expands the track. By the end it’s gorgeous, tight and funky, like Mates of State strung out and rocking late into the night.

Manchester Orchestra’s “Make It To Me/Architect” split vinyl collaboration with Grouplove and Frightened Rabbits will be available on April 20th – wink – at record stores worldwide.
