I had to double-check this one, but I definitely saw Dengue Fever in the summer of 2007 at a Jelly Pool Party in Brooklyn, NY – and it was amazing. The band is the quintessential product of Los Angeles with diverse sounds and sights. Their music is an exotic blend of Cambodian rock, Afro grooves, surf and garage rock. Imagine if the B-52′s spent more time backpacking through South East Asia. The most recent single “Cement Slippers” packs in a ripping saxophone solo with an infectious chorus. Their newest album Cannibal Courtship came out in April via Fantasy Records.

You can catch Dengue Fever live TONIGHT at The Black Cat. Grab tix here.
