Right before their amazing acoustic performance of “Colours” for ATG-TV, Grouplove sat down with us to talk about everything from their origins on the island of Crete and making it in L.A. to their excitement for playing the inaugural DC stop for their tour with the Joy Formidable.

We recently had the chance to talk to Taylor and Ryan from Local Natives before their sold out show at the 9:30 Club. Very rad dudes. They opened up about all things LA, the recording process behind their excellent album Gorilla Manor and signing to Frenchkiss Records.

We did not get a chance to discuss their Talking Heads cover, but here it is to check out:

As with all electronic music, it’s difficult to predict exactly what a “live” show will entail. Does it feature a full band rocking out on keyboards, guitars, and drums? Or an ex-bassist shuffling through Ableton, periodically hitting a cowbell?

ATG favorites Miami Horror avoided the latter at U Street Music Hall on September 11th, playing a nearly flawless set at a venue that brilliantly complimented their sound. The Australian quartet displayed full control over their arsenal of disco-influenced jams, and gave us the opportunity to catch up with them for a few minutes after the show (video above).
