Best of SXSW: Incan Abraham
Experimental-pop band Incan Abraham spent the first month of their existence in a cabin upstate New York. Sure, it isn’t exactly a cultural mecca, but what better place to craft mesmerizing synths and haunting beats than in the middle of the woods? Incan’s latest EPs, Ancient Vacation and Sunscreen, have garnered raving reviews across the board and elevated the LA-based four-piece to into the upper echelon of west coast buzz-bands (see Electric Guest, Haim).
If you made the rounds at this year’s SXSW, it would have been hard to miss one of Incan Abraham’s many shows. Their set at ATG/Neon Gold’s All Things Gold showcase at ND Studios was absolutely on-point, delivering a much needed dose of energy to the early rising crowd. Expect big things from these guys in 2012.
