Premiere: INK – Five Seconds (Twin Shadow Cover)

There’s still a whole month left in the year, but we have a hunch INK are going to top the list of our favorite new artists of 2012. The London duo floored us — along with the folks over at the Guardian — with their debut track, “INK Goes On.” The two have done it once again with a fantastic, indie pop rendition of Twin Shadow’s “Five Seconds,” which we are proud to premiere here on ATG. Stream it below or grab a free download of the cover in exchange for a like over on INK’s Facebook. Expect big things from these guys in 2013.

Everything Everything – Kemosabe

If you’re like us, you have yet to get over “Cough Cough,” the incredible first track to emerge off Everything Everything‘s upcoming sophomore LP, Arc. So you can imagine we were a bit overwhelmed last week when the Manchester experimental outfit decided to drop “Kemosabe,” the first official single off said album. Though less on the rock side than its predecessor, “Kemosabe” keeps things slick and quirky with a quasi-hip-hop synth-beat and Jonathan Higgs’ trademark falsetto. Now the track has a self-directed video to boot, which you can watch above.

Everything Everything’s Arc is set for release on January 14th via RCA Victor.

Avec Sans – The Answer

Avec Sans announced their existence to the world this summer with their explosive debut track, “Heartbreak Hi,” and a Hype Machine-dominating cover of Bon Iver’s “Perth.” The London duo steps things up with their latest effort, “The Answer,” a towering electro-pop anthem reminiscent of Icona Pop, HAERTS and DWNTWN. From the sound of it, expect only bigger and better things from these two.

Stream “The Answer” or grab a free download on their Facebook in exchange for a like.

ON AN ON – The Hunter

“The Hunter” is the latest to come from ON AN ON, a Chicago/Minneapolis-based trio born from the ashes of the now-defunct Scattered Trees. A follow-up to the group’s mesmerizing debut track, “Ghosts,” ON AN ON’s second effort is an anthemic synth and percussion onslaught perfected at the hands of producer Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Los Campesinos!). You’ll be able to find “The Hunter” and “Ghosts” on ON AN ON’s debut LP, Give In, out January 29th, 2013 via Roll Call.

Flight Facilities – Clair De Lune (Ft. Christine Hoberg)

Powerful isn’t usually a word used to describe Flight Facilities. The Australian duo’s latest track, “Clair De Lune,” however, is just that, and now it comes with an equally moving video to boot. The Dave Ma-directed piece is an interesting take on the carefree recklessness of youth, one that’s equally dark as it is nostalgic. Check it out above — these eight minutes are well worth a watch.

Purity Ring – Lofticries

Purity Ring‘s trap-pop gets another mesmerizing visual treatment in a new video for “Lofticries.” Directed by AG Rojas, the piece for the Shrines slow jam features four characters encountering strange life-death situations, or as Rojas tells Pitchfork, it explores “the stoicism of of physically connected characters confronted by surreal, climactic moments.” See for yourself above.

Purity Ring’s Shrines is out now on 4AD.
