Ambassadors have ridden the buzz train straight into 2013. With a recent string of live and radio success — including a #1 Alternative radio hit in Virginia — the world best prepare itself for this Brooklyn four-piece’s inevitable rise to the top. The band will be rolling through DC this Thursday as support for the Postelles at U Street Music Hall. Before they hit the stage, we got them to share a five-track playlist with us featuring their favorite songs as of late. Check it out after the jump and then grab tickets for the show here.

STREAM: Ambassadors – “Unconsolable”

STREAM: Miguel – “Adorn”

“Impossibly catchy, soulful, and oozing with sex appeal; what an INCREDIBLE voice this guy has. Buoyant beats with a Sam Cooke swagger… Miguel has it all.”

STREAM: Kendrick Lamar – “Money Trees (Ft. Jay Rock)”

“Top track off the best album of the year. ‘Halle Berry, or Hallelujah/ Pick your poison tell me what you do.’ Doesn’t get much better than that.”

STREAM: Mikky Ekko – “Pull Me Down”

“Indie/Neo-Soul/dramatic-folk singer from Tennessee, featuring beats by Clams Casino (one of the best producers in the game). This guy is relatively unknown, but not for long.”

STREAM: Sam Smith – “Lay Me Down”

“…and neither will this guy. Fresh-faced soul singer from the UK best known for his collaborations with Disclosure, now stepping out on his own in a BIG way on this track. Think Whitney Houston meets George Michael meets Adele.”

STREAM: Jai Paul – “Jasmine”

“Save the best for last. This is the second song this guy has released in the last 2 years, and it’s well worth the wait. Think D’Angelo meets Prince meets The xx.”
