Some say that Genghis Khan, in his relentless domination of Asia and its women, fathered something like 1000 children. Impressive, but not for his indefatigability. These children were so genetically superior to their peers, so able to thrive where others died off, that supposedly one in 200 men alive today is a direct descendent of Genghis.

In this way, RAC are like the Genghis Khan of music, having their way with every song worth a second listen while on the road to total sovereignty over the remix world. But again, it’s not their sheer prolificacy that makes RAC such a standout. It’s the fact that months after other remixes (and even the original song) fall off our radios and radars, the RAC versions remain at the top of playlists.

Once they took to the DJ booth at the inaugural All Things Gold one year ago, U Street Music Hall was never the same. Now, we’re stoked as steam engines to bring RAC back to DC. Back then, All Things Gold was but a twinkle in ATG and Neon Gold Records’ eyes, and now it’s grown so strong even Genghis would attend. We’re moving from U Hall to the 9:30 Club, we’ve got five acts on the bill, and we even have a secret guest for you all (which we’ll announce on Monday).

All that and more is coming next week. For now, just familiarize yourself with the Remix Artist Collective. Catch the video for their first original track, “Hollywood (featuring Penguin Prison)” above and scroll through some of our favorite remixes below.
