Whether you consider yourself an All Things Gold Member or you’re just finishing up your congressional internship for the summer, this Friday night there is only one VIParty in DC at which to see and be seen: All Things Gold’s One Year Anniversary. Everyone who’s anyone will be there (think along the lines of BYT, Barry and Michelle, the Olsen twins, Hilary Gridley, etcetera…) and trust me, you don’t want to be the only one in the office on Monday who missed out on the fun.

We’ve already briefed you on most of our lineup—The Knocks, RAC, Vacationer, and French Horn Rebellion—which leaves for last, but certainly not least, California-natives POP ETC. You may have known this three-piece lo-fi rock group by their previous moniker, The Morning Benders, but after discovering that name’s unfortunate vernacular concurrence with a British derogatory term for homosexuals, the group decided to drop it and overhaul their entire image with a new name and accompanying fresh sound. Channeling pop legends of yore (think Boyz II Men, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna), the re-minted group followed up their makeover with a brand new studio album, released on June 12th via Rough Trade. Stream the whole album here, or check out a couple of our choice selections below.

We’ve done our part to inform you, so now it’s on you to purchase those tickets, dust off your dancin’ duds, and bring your hundred closest friends over to the 9:30 Club for a BBC-worthy jubilee.
