All Things Gold One Year Anniversary Preview – French Horn Rebellion
Things are quiet in DC today. Too quiet. The air feels pregnant with potential energy, as if it were patiently waiting to absorb the temperature spike coming at any moment. If this were a dream, we’d be hours away from some bizarre derecho-breathing Godzilla attack. Luckily, there’s only a 10% chance you’re dreaming right now, so you’re in for a real treat instead.
Big things are indeed afoot, but not of the reptilian kind. We’re only one day away from the All Things Gold One Year Anniversary showdown, and it’s time to get you acquainted with the two brothers who are getting the whole thing started: French Horn Rebellion. The synth-pop maestros are no stranger to All Things Gold; they made their last appearance in DC opening for Yuksek at U Street Music Hall a few months ago after touring around the past couple years with the likes of Yelle and Hot Chip.
One listen to singles like “This Moment” and “Up All Night” and it’s clear we don’t believe in concepts like “pacing” or “controlled, steady buildup.” Instead, we get the party going 110% percent right from the first note, so you’re going to want to get yourself in the door as early as possible. Still seems to good to be true? Pinch yourself, friend, you’re not dreaming.
