It hardly surprises me that South Carolina’s All Get Out has found a home with Atlanta-based Favorite Gentlemen Recordings. The band appears to be a devout disciple of the same Southern pop rock the label’s powerhouse, Manchester Orchestra, has been championing since their breakout debut, I’m Like A Virgin Losing A Child. You can’t deny that frontman Nathan Hussey’s vocals sound uncannily similar to those of Andy Hull, either. But you can tell after listening to their latest single, “Lucky Bastard,” that there’s something a bit different about All Get Out. Perhaps it’s the peppy gang vocals or the harmonizing ooh-ooh’s, but either way it’s clear that the band is shooting for a whole different level of upbeat energy that the Orchestra never quite achieves. Point is: I’m digging this track and want more. All Get Out’s debut LP, The Season, comes out September 20th on Favorite Gentlemen.
