Alexander – Truth
McKee introduced us to Alexander, the solo project from Ima Robot and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros frontman Alex Ebert, back in February, and now he’s back with the much-anticipated video for his first single, “Truth.” Along with the video, Ebert released a remix by none other than Wu-Tang mastermind The RZA, as if to just remind us of how badass they are. The video stars Ebert in two roles; the Devendra Banhart look-alike messiah stumbling across a jagged beach and the man with the shirtless suit and ghettoblaster jamming out in a small town. The song has a profound vibe, which is nothing new for the frontman. In a recent interview with The Independent, Ebert described the spirit of his music:
“The refusal to lose hope is the only way to prevail over the pessimism and sarcasm,” said Ebert. “And from that refusal comes the desire to build something else.”
That’s something we can all relate to…even the RZArector himself.
